SUSTAINABILITY IS IMPORTANT

We not only believe it, we live it. That’s why in 2019 we became one of the first wedding photography studios in Australia to become not only carbon neutral, but carbon negative. We currently offset 2.5 times our annual carbon output, a massive 27 tonnes, thanks to our partners at Carbon Neutral.

IN ADDITION TO OUR CARBON OFFSETTING EFFORTS, WE’VE ALSO TAKEN STEPS IN EVERY ASPECT OF OUR BUSINESS TO REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT EVEN FURTHER.

TREE PLANTING

When you book us for your wedding or pre-wedding, a tree is planted in your name in a reforestation area. We’re currently part of the massive efforts in Eurardy on Nanda Country, WA, where 500 hectares are being planted annually. If you choose our Eco Delivery option (digital only), an additional two trees will be planted in your name.

If every couple selects this option, we would be planting a staggering 1350 trees over the next 10 years, and that’s really something. This simple gesture can have great long-term impact in offsetting carbon emissions.

LOCAL, SUSTAINABLY SOURCED KEEPSAKE BOXES

We love delivering our photos in wooden keepsake boxes, but have struggled finding high quality, sustainable options on the market.

Thats why, in 2020, we’ve now started producing all our keepsake boxes in-house. We hired our own cabinet maker, began sourcing our own wood, and build everything on-site. All our wood is reclaimed from the local Sydney area, much of it from 100+ year old homes demolitions. Don’t let that fool you though, every box we produce is utterly gorgeous. They are all unique, built to last a lifetime, and made with the same care and love we put in to our photos.

LOCAL ALBUM PRODUCTION

Did you know that the majority of wedding albums you see are printed overseas? Many are printed on massive copiers in China, and require each page to be printed multiple times to achieve a quality product. The rejected pages are then disposed of, meaning your 30-page album can sometimes equal 100-pages of paper used. In addition to that, up to 300 million tons of fuel is used every year shipping goods, including wedding albums, internationally.

We have exclusively partnered with Atkins Pro Photo for all our album production. Based in South Australia, Atkins prints their pages once, and prints them right the first time. Their surplus inks are recycled, not simply thrown away, and they source the majority of their materials locally.

SOLAR

Our new office in Sydney’s Hills District is primarily solar powered, with plans in place to make it 100% renewably powered by 2022.

Solar power is a totally clean, green source of energy—releasing zero greenhouse gas into our atmosphere, and providing more energy than we could ever need. We think that’s pretty great.
